With a steadfast will to devote its surplus to society and to achieve greater benefit for all, Glorious Sun Group established “GS Charity Foundation” in 2005.  The Foundation gives support and contribution to a range of charity organizations for natural disaster and poverty relief, education development, Chinese culture and social ethics promotion.

Natural Disaster and Poverty Relief

Glorious Sun cares for the less developed areas in Guangdong China, and actively supports the Guangdong Poverty Alleviation initiatives. During traditional festivals, the Group donates in money and in kind to the low-income families in Huizhou, each time helping 41,000 families and more. The Group has repeatedly received the Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Cotton Tree Golden Cup Award since 2010.

Natural disasters can be sudden and devastating. In times of difficulty, Glorious Sun always reaches out to those in need without hesitation. Glorious Sun responded to relief instantly, back from the East China flood in 1991, to Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Qinghai Yushu earthquake in 2010 and Sichuan Ya’an earthquake in 2013.During the outbreak of the SARS epidemic in 2003, Glorious Sun donated to the Ministry of Health to support the development and purchase of drugs.

Glorious Sun Award for Huizhou Youngsters Moral Education

In 2004, Glorious Sun Group joined hands with the People’s Government of Huizhou City to found Glorious Sun Award for Huizhou Youngsters Moral Education.  With the aim of promoting the moral education for the youngsters in Huizhou, the award rewards the youngsters having better moral and teachers advocating advanced moral education.  The award benefits over 3,500 students, 100 teachers and appraises outstanding parents and advance schools every year. 

Volunteering Team

We have set up volunteering teams in Hong Kong and Huizhou headquarters to encourage our staff to serve the community in their spare time.

Our staff volunteering teams regularly participate in the following activities:

1. Visiting solitary senior citizens and elderly homes during Chinese festivals to share the festive joy with them

2. Delivering winter relief for impoverished areas in China and donating quilts to families in need

3. Collaborating with charities to organize creative community activities, such as Stargazing Camp for the visually-impaired, pastel making, family day, etc.
